A Message from Principal Wynne

Dear Families,

Happy Wednesday! Once again, a warm Happy New Year to all those celebrating Rosh Hashanah. Wishing everyone a lovely long weekend ahead!

Our students had a fantastic time at recess, chanting for their favorite New York teams and celebrating the vibrant spirit of our great city! It’s always heartwarming to see our community come together in joy.

I want to address an important safety concern. It has come to my attention that drop-off on 217th Street can become quite congested in the mornings, which impacts overall safety. I have already reached out to our traffic enforcement officer today via phone and email. I kindly ask any families who are affected by this situation to also call 311. The more voices we have advocating for the safety of our school community, the better!

Additionally, please remember that our arrival doors will remain open for entry until 8:30 AM. After that time, any late students must enter through the main entrance. We aim to provide our teachers and students with a consistent routine to maximize instructional time. While we understand that there can be extenuating circumstances, we encourage all students to arrive by 8:20 AM.

Thank you all for your continued support and collaboration. Remember I am here for you. Enjoy the long weekend!

happy fall

Best regards,

Jennifer Wynne
