Welcome Third Graders & Parents:

I hope to update this site with information as I plan our tests and other assignments for this year.  Please feel free to check back here every week to see if there is any news.

Best ways to contact me:

1. I have an e-mail address for you to contact me.  scifun205@gmail.com.  I will check my e-maill every couple of days and try to get back to you with an answer within 48 hours.

2. Of course a note dropped off to the bag on my door is great too.   I usually respond to those the same day.  I ask the children to drop off notes to my bag around 9 am so it does not interfere with my classes.

3. Phone calls to the school 718-464-5773 can also be accepted.  I am usually at school early.  Someone is in the main office at 7:30 to direct your call to my room.  7:30 am to 8 am and again 9 am to 9:45 am are the best times to call me.  I usually do not have children at these times.

5. I will be teaching your child how I want their notebook set up.  Please wait for those directions before doing any homework in the notebook.

*These assignments can be done directly into the notebooks if they are on time.  Late assignments or other assignments must be completed on loose-leaf & turned in.

Grade 3 Workbook Assignments: 2011-2012

1. Your Child’s Science Workbook is to be covered with clear Contact.
2. Your child can NOT write in the workbook.  The books will be collected the week of June 11.
3. Your child will write their answers in their notebook. On the top of the page, they need to write the PAGE Number.

1. They can put the Section letter, the number and the correct answer.
2. If they are labeling a picture, they can trace or draw the best they can and label it.
3. They are NOT to draw lines for matching columns.  They can write the section letter, the number and then write the correct answer next to the matching number.
4. Section C requires writing their answers in full sentences.
5. True & False requires the Section letter, the number and just the word True or False
6. Multiple choice requires the number and the Uppercase letter of the correct answer

Your child must have the homework on the FIRST day I see their class each week. We will go over the homework together and the students will correct their work

Your child may have occasional other assignments such as describing something they had seen or done in science or completing a lab report started in science.  These are expected to be neat with all conventions correct.  I will accept any pages not assigned as extra credit if completed by due dates. Extra credit is done on loose-leaf or as Vocabulary Flash Cards. Your child’s first, last name & class must be on any thing turned in to me for extra credit. Thank you for your help and cooperation.
