Gingerbread Pirates

gingerpiratesHave you ever made a ginger bread pirate?  No so you should read the Gingerbread Pirates by Matt Taveras.  I think Captain Cookie is brave.  Captain Cookie is the main character.  Captain Cookie brave because he faced through mice, cliffs and things he could fall through.

Captain Cookie wanted a pirate crew and a big ship.  Did he get all of those things that he wanted?  Well you have to read the book to find out.

I loved the part when Captain Cookie was trying to fight Santa.  For example, Captain Cookie didn’t want his crew to be eaten by Santa.  To me the illustrations were realistic and cool.  For example when Captain Cookie slashed his sword it was cool and realistic.  The part I did not like was when a mouse ate on Captain Cookie’s sword.  And I do not like when characters are upset in books.

I recommend this book to adventurous people because Captain Cookie was adventurous in the book.  I also recommend this book to people who like to make gingerbread pirates on Christmas night.  I would give this book five stars because I like the part when Captain Cookie was trying to fight Santa. Enjoy reading your book! ~ Julius
